Lucas Waitkus has been playing drums and percussion since 10 years of age. He has a
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts with a
concentration in classical percussion. As such, has played with prestigious groups such as the
Rutgers Symphony Orchestra and the New Jersey Repertory Opera, as well as in venues such
as Trinity Church and Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. Lucas has been teaching since
graduating college in 2019, and has taught at Bergenfield High School, Bridgewater-Raritan
High School, Manville High School, and Keio Academy of New York. When he is not teaching,
Lucas plays drum set for local musical theater performances and has played across the gamut
of genre and style.
